Presentation
The Cohiba Behike BHK 54 comes in a lacquered box with Habanos Packing Code SPB-S-n-n-n-10
Dimensions:
Length: 5.7 inches (144mm)
Diameter: 20.64 mm
Ring Gauge: 54
Shape: Robusto Extra
Appearance:
This is a very beautiful cigar. The construction is impeccable. It has a beautiful wrapper, practically flawless, a bit darker than a Colorado wrapper. And there is a very nice little pig tail at the cap. The band has an awesome finish with two security holograms on it; it comes off without much effort and without damaging the cigar whatsoever. The texture is fabulous. The cigar has a slight spongy feel while still being firm when squeezed; it is almost hard. Slightly bigger than the BHK 52, it is an impressive cigar to behold.
Smoking Notes:
Before lighting up
Amazing grassy aromas emanate from the wrapper and the foot.
Burn/ Draw
Cutting the cigar is very easy. The draw is very open. Each draw lets out lots of velvety and thick smoke. The burn line is even and neat throughout the cigar.
Initial third:
Right off the bat, the cigar provides excellent flavor. It greets you with a nice complexity, with flavors of hay, cedar and earthy. There is a good amount of spices as well. Compared to the BHK 52, this cigar is much less creamy at this point. All these aromas make a pleasant combination that lingers on the palate.
Middle third:
While the strong spicy flavors remain, the second third brings some more sweetness. The complexity of the cigar is still there; all the aromas are now more powerful than in the first third, and blending nicely together. Through the middle third the spicy notes slowly fade away, and leave space for more creaminess. There are also small hints of dark chocolate at this point. Each draw releases a generous amount of white velvety smoke. The draw remains open and consistent throughout the middle third.
Final third:
In the final third, the BHK 54 reveals its true self, a real Cohiba, but with stronger and bitter aromas than the average vitola. The spices encountered in the first third come back but not as strong as in the beginning. While the same flavors from the previous third persist, we can also pick up floral notes, hints of vanilla and of coffee beans. There are also hints of graham cracker as well. All those flavors wonderfully combine into a cohesive mixture that is incredibly enjoyable. No flavor overshadows the others, they all come together beautifully. It is a pleasure to smoke this cigar until the nub, where hints of spice, that of typical Cohiba, reveal the full complexity of the BHK 54.
In summary, this cigar is an exceptional Cohiba that goes well with special occasions. Its perfect construction and flawless balance will delight you; from moment you open the beautiful lacquered box to the moment you have to let that beautiful cigar in the ashtray.
Smoking time:
60 – 90 Minutes

As a fan of Cubans and NCs alike, I personally hold this cigar as the best available. If you are searching for the "Cuban creaminess" with a wonderful blend of rich smoke and pleasing aftertaste, this is the cigar. The price is not conducive to frequent smoking, but when an event demands the best, this is your cigar.
Caviat: I have not experienced a BKE56, only the 52 and 54, but the 54's extra length and dimension in flavor is worth every penny.
I consider these marginally better overall as compared to a Padron Family Reserve 44/45, but again, if you're searching for those Cuban qualities in a smoke, these take the cake! -
