As opposed to No.2 and the No.4, the No.1 is little known, and this is a shame because this little stogie packs a true Montecristo experience in a perfectly rolled cigar. It is also a pretty strong smoke, oscillating between a medium and a medium to full bodied cigar. It is nevertheless very creamy and smooth. The Romeo y Julieta Maravillas 8 is a 2020 special released Habano, a 6.1” (155mm) by 55 ring gauge, and comes in a luxury box of 8 cigars. It is celebrating the Chinese zodiac calendar, 2020 being the year of the Rat, which symbolizes wealth and surplus. The number 8 is considered a lucky number in the Chinese culture and appeals to the Chinese market with its beautiful red lacquered luxury box (red is the symbol of good fortune and joy), with some golden touches (a stylized golden rat), which color refers to wealth. Released for the Asian market, the Maravillas 8 cigar is shaped into a Maravillas No.3 vitola de galera, the same used by the Montecristo 520, a 2012 Limited Edition.

Ramon Allones No.2 Limited Edition 2019 - 10 cigars

Released in 2020, the Ramon Allones No.2 is a 2019 Edición Limitada, an elegant 5.5” (140mm) by 52 ring gauge, and comes in a luxury box of 10 cigars. Revealed at the XXI Festival del Habano in 2019, among the Montecristo Supremos and Quai d’Orsay Senadores, it was only released virtually in late 2020 for some selected guests. The guests had each received an individual gift bag including the cigar, a mini bottle of cognac, a cognac glass and three selected chocolates, which would beautifully pair with the Ramon Allones No.2. The cigars have all been hand rolled with tobacco leaves which have been aged for 2 to 5 years, instead of being rolled with regular tobacco leaves and then aged in their boxes, which gave more time to the flavors No.2 to develop and get richer. The flavors are typical Ramon Allones, reminiscent of the Specially Selected but with some nutiness and more sweetness than the regular production cigar. It is also more powerful than the Specially Selected, a medium to full body cigar and full flavored. The vitola used for the Ramon Allones No.2 is the Campanas, similar to the acclaimed Bolivar Belicosos Finos, which was used only once before for a Ramon Allones when they released the Ramon Allones Belicosos Finos exclusively for the UK market in 2005. Once released in stores, the Ramon Allones No.2 comes in a beautiful green lacquered box with a raised top, which is very different visually from other Edición Limitadas or any other Habanos releases and would magnificently complement the aficionado’s humidor. As many Edición Limitada, the No.2 will surely become a future classic in the next 2 to 5 years, try one out and you will know why. It is hard to only smoke one cigar only as the flavors in the palate makes you want to light one up as soon as possible. Learn More
