Appearance:
The Petit Corona is a very well constructed, very firm and well packed. An attractive golden brown smooth wrapper, with little veins.

Before lighting up:
The cigar is very well constructed, very firm and well packed. It has a smooth, oily, chocolate wrapper, with little veins with a lightly colored wrapper and nice cap.
Burn/Draw:
The cigar lights up very easy. The draw is on the firm side, as expected from the beginning, but it's not unpleasant. Any uneven burn quickly evens out, while thick grey ash is forming and stays perfectly on the cigar. Yields billowing clouds of smoke.
Initial third:
It is medium bodied in the beginning, with hints of earth and wood, with hints of spice.
Middle third:
The cigar turns into cream, with some of spice. The draw is slightly looser, but still firm. The flavors are more complex, with the earthy flavor being more intense. The tones of vanilla and coffee appear. It is very creamy.
Final third:
Spice, wood, cocoa and fruits, all well balanced, deliver full and robust creamy flavors. If smoked slowly, the cigar smokes well until the end, without becoming hot or overwhelming. A lot of aging potential.
In summary, the Por Larranaga Petit Corona is one of the best marevas of the Cuban size. A very tasty cigar with well balanced flavors.

Already lovely at age one

By Robert - I thought twice about buying 50 of these, but took the plunge about 6 months ago. I'm glad I did. If you buy these, I suggest spending some time with the aroma when you open the box. If cigars can be perfumed, these are. At a little over a year of age, they begin with a silky smooth sweet taste that's very round and pretty. Over the course of the smoke, the flavor steadily gains richness until they finish with a high palate spice that lasts and lasts. Already one of my favorite marevas.

By Andrew - Recently Purchased SLB of 50. While I know they they will significantly improve with age, I was amazed at how fantastic they taste right out of the box with just a month of rest. Sweet Cuban twang!! Very smooth, not a harsh note. The burn and smoke output is perfect. Definitely on the mild side which I like once in a while. Especially while out in the yard or walking the dog. At this price point I consider this cigar to be a bargain. A perfect compliment to my stash of D4s, RASS, and Monty 4’s.
