Quintero y Hermano Brevas - 25 cigars

The Quintero y Hermanos cigars have never been expensive cigars, but the quality has improved significantly since they began hand finishing the cigars a few years ago. If you have time, leave them in the humidor for a few years, and enjoy an amazing cheap cigar. If you're more impatient, then light one up, but expect to encounter less complex and subtle flavors than you're used to from a Cuban cigar.
After the cigars are 1 year old:
Strong earthy and grassy notes, no undertones noted, transitioning into a spicier version of the initial flavor and retaining through the end, losing most of the grass in the last 1/3.
After 3 years:
Earthy notes, still some grass, but less overpowering, picking up some woody undertones and slightly less spice, gaining some leather notes on the finish.
After 5 years:
More subtle earthy notes with a slight hint of grass, smoother transition into wooden tones with a white pepper spice, moving into an oily leathery flavor with retained spice.
About an hour of smoking for me, a 5 year old version is a good cigar to give someone, a 1 year old version is best with strong coffee. No matter the age, the flavors remain robust, but clearly more complex and smoothly transitioning with more age.
