Presented in 18-count boxes, the Cohiba Siglo de Oro boasts dimensions of 4.5 inches by 54 ring gauge, introducing a novel vitola within both the Cohiba and Habanos portfolios, named Éxitosos.

In a dual celebration, Habanos S.A., the Cuban cigar distributor, introduces the Cohiba Siglo de Oro, a fresh offering that pays homage to the Lunar New Year while commemorating the 30th anniversary of the iconic Línea 1492, also recognized as the “Siglo Series.” This special release not only marks the advent of the new year but also honors the three-decade legacy of the Linea 1492, a cornerstone of Cohiba’s success.

Following the tradition initiated in 2019 with the Romeo y Julieta Maravillas No.8 (Year of the Rat), the Cohiba Siglo de Oro stands as the fourth release by Habanos S.A. crafted in celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year, which is the year of the Rabbit.

Only 18,888 boxes have been crafted, a number symbolizing luck in Chinese culture due to the significance of the number 8. Each box bears a unique serial number displayed on a golden badge inside the lid, alongside an NFC chip. This cutting-edge technology allows users to scan the box with their smartphones for instant authentication and access to additional information about the cigars. Remarkably, this marks the first instance of NFC technology being integrated into a Cuban cigar box, functioning seamlessly even through the closed wooden box and outer packaging.

Additionally, a secondary band adorns each of these new Cohibas, representing the Year of the Rabbit, the current animal in the Chinese zodiac. The phrase "Year of the Rabbit" is also imprinted on the intricately designed, beveled box, along with a stylized logo commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Línea 1492 brand. While 2023 officially marked the Year of the Rabbit, it's worth noting that the Línea 1492 brand was introduced in 1992, making this anniversary celebration slightly delayed.

The Cohiba Siglo I is an outstanding Cuban smoke, a rich and smooth Petit Corona, of 40 ring gauge, 4" (102mm) long and comes in a box of 25 cigars. This is the shortest cigar in the Linea 1492.This small format Habano, short and thin gauge, is a quick smoke. The burn is even and nice. A perfect choice for a short break. The Siglo I is mild in taste, due to the kind of tobacco leaves (much lighter) used for the filler. The wrapper is also very nice, with very fine veins. Más información

The Cohiba Siglo VI may be the best Cohiba, a medium to full Canonazo, of 52 ring gauge, 5.9” (155mm) long and comes in a box of 10 cigars. It is a beauty to behold; you would be hard-pressed to find a list of today’s top cigars that didn’t include the Cohiba Siglo VI. The H.Upmann No.2 is one of Cuba's most popular vitola, a delicious medium Pyramid, 6.1” (156mm) long, of 52 ring gauge, and comes in a 25 cigars box. It is right up there with the Montecristo No.2. However the flavors are very recognizable as H.Upmann, but the pointy shape of this cigar gives a smoke that is unique in this brand. The Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No.3 is a medium bodied Robusto, 4.92” (125mm) by 54 ring gauge, and comes in a box of 25 cigars. First released in Spain in September 2023, it is a new vitola, marking a departure from the traditional shapes of the Epicure line. The production name for this entirely new format is "Originales," and is the fourth addition to the popular "Línea Epicure" range. With its excellent construction and richly layered flavor profile, the Epicure No. 3 undoubtedly deserves a place in any regular cigar rotation.

The Juan Lopez Seleccion No.1 is a rich and tasty medium Habanos of Grand Corona format, 5.6” (143mm) long, of 46 ring gauge, and comes in a 25 cigars box. The Juan Lopez brand is one the oldest founded in Cuba, in 1876. Released in 1990s, it is fully hand-made with Vuelta Abajo filler leaves. It can be sometimes hard to find, as the production can be interrupted at times, due to high quality standards. It is a Corona Gorda format, an extraordinary compromise between a Churchill, a Hermoso No.4 and a Corona. It is full of flavors; the aromas are well balanced between woodsy, earthy, sweet and peppery aromas and some creaminess to bind it all. The texture of the Juan Lopez Seleccion No.1 is amazing, generates lots of creamy smoke and an amazing taste. It can be both enjoyed young and fresh or with some more age and would delight both the beginner and the cigar aficionado. In short, a very impressive smoke by a lesson-known Cuban brand. The Montecristo OPEN Master is a mellow yet very rich Habano, of Robusto format, of 50 ring gauge, 4.9” (124mm) long and comes in a box of 20 cigars. Like other cigars from the OPEN series, this stogie is targeting aficionados that wish to smoke while doing an outdoor activity, and any inexperienced smokers. It is a cigar of a lighter blend compared to the usual vitolas from Montecristo, but it is of Montecristo standard nevertheless. It is a robusto size cigar that is ideal as a morning smoke or as a complementary companion for delicate wines and spirits. Its smooth character generates plenty of rich flavors of wood and tobacco and just the right amount of spice and bitterness. It is basically a shorter Edmundo, with a different flavor profile though, due to the different blend used for this cigar. The Romeo y Julieta Churchills is a world famous strong julieta, with 47 ring gauge, 7" (178mm) long and comes in aluminum tubes in a box of 15 cigars. Despite being a strong bodied vitola, the Churchill is smooth and creamy nevertheless. It is perfectly constructed and its draw is smooth and easy. The Romeo y Julieta No.2 is a smooth medium-bodied Petit Corona, 5.1” (129mm) long, of 42 ring gauge, and comes in aluminum tubes in a 25 cigars box. It similar to the Petit Coronas from the same brand, and full of flavors. It has obviously some familiarity with the other Marevas from Romeo y Julieta. It reveals some earthy, woody aromas, and also a good amount of leather and some hints of spice on the tongue. The construction is wonderful, it is a beautiful hand rolled stogie, and the packaging, the magnificent aluminum tube, makes it a cigar that every cigar enthusiast should have in his humidor. The Romeo y Julieta Petit Churchills is a tasty and balanced medium bodied Petit Robusto, 4" (102mm) long, of 50 ring gauge, and comes in a 25 cigars box. Great success since it was released in 2004, all the major brands released such a vitola, with their own typical aromas but with the same characteristics. The Petit Churchills is Romeo y Julieta response to Cohiba, Montecristo, Partagas and Trinidad. Like all Petit Robustos, it is a short and robust cigar, which is quick to smoke but doesn’t compromise on the coolness and the comfort of a larger ring gauge.
