It is mostly due to its medium size and shape, and the fact that its flavors are regular and stand out among other Habanos that it is a top seller. Presented in 18-count boxes, the Cohiba Siglo de Oro boasts dimensions of 4.5 inches by 54 ring gauge, introducing a novel vitola within both the Cohiba and Habanos portfolios, named Éxitosos.

In a dual celebration, Habanos S.A., the Cuban cigar distributor, introduces the Cohiba Siglo de Oro, a fresh offering that pays homage to the Lunar New Year while commemorating the 30th anniversary of the iconic Línea 1492, also recognized as the “Siglo Series.” This special release not only marks the advent of the new year but also honors the three-decade legacy of the Linea 1492, a cornerstone of Cohiba’s success.

Following the tradition initiated in 2019 with the Romeo y Julieta Maravillas No.8 (Year of the Rat), the Cohiba Siglo de Oro stands as the fourth release by Habanos S.A. crafted in celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year, which is the year of the Rabbit.

Only 18,888 boxes have been crafted, a number symbolizing luck in Chinese culture due to the significance of the number 8. Each box bears a unique serial number displayed on a golden badge inside the lid, alongside an NFC chip. This cutting-edge technology allows users to scan the box with their smartphones for instant authentication and access to additional information about the cigars. Remarkably, this marks the first instance of NFC technology being integrated into a Cuban cigar box, functioning seamlessly even through the closed wooden box and outer packaging.

Additionally, a secondary band adorns each of these new Cohibas, representing the Year of the Rabbit, the current animal in the Chinese zodiac. The phrase "Year of the Rabbit" is also imprinted on the intricately designed, beveled box, along with a stylized logo commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Línea 1492 brand. While 2023 officially marked the Year of the Rabbit, it's worth noting that the Línea 1492 brand was introduced in 1992, making this anniversary celebration slightly delayed.

The Diplomaticos Reserva Exclusiva is a Medium Full, 5.9” (150mm) by 50 Geniales and comes in boxes of 25 cigars. It a 2020 exclusive release for the Caribbean region, which is only the third Regional Edition for the Caribbean region after the La Gloria Cubana Paraiso in 2014 and Juan Lopez Short Torpedos in 2008. Only 2,400 boxes have been made in Cuba and each box is numbered. The H.Upmann Connossieur No.2 is a 2020 release, a medium-full bodied 5.25” (134 mm) by 51, and comes in a box of 25 cigars. It is the only Habanos cigar which has a ring gauge of 51. The factory name is known as Bohemios in Cuba and it was first presented in Germany in late 2020. Released only in few central European countries, this cigar will definitely please all amateurs of the other Connossieur from the marca H.Upmann. Similar in tastes and body as the other Connossieurs, its size makes it sit between the Connoisseur No.1 and the Connossieur A. The H.Upmann Magnum 46 is a Cuban classic, a rich and complex medium-full Coronas Gorda, 5.6” (143mm) long, of 46 ring gauge, and comes in a 25 cigars box. It is one of the most popular cigars of the brand with huge aging potential, with a strong following. Sadly The H. Upmann Magnum 46 is not as popular as it should be. The “Linea de Oro”, literally the “golden line” in Spanish is the pendant of the Maduro 5 line for the Cohiba, the top of the crop among the Romeo y Julieta brand, launched to celebrate the brand's 145th anniversary. Habanos released three totally new cigars, which are among the biggest ring gauge cigars available among Habanos, the Hidalgos, the Nobles and Dianas. The Dianas vitola is called a Damas, 52 ring gauge by 5 ¾ inches and, as the other two, comes in a refined high lacquered box of 20 cigars. One can right away see that these cigars are different from the regular production line, as the box is painted in a very elegant red and gold colors, adorned with an embossed golden medallion on the lid, representing the classic balcony scene. Each cigar comes with a specific Linea de Oro band with the name of the cigar as well as a secondary golden band at the foot. The Hidalgos, Nobles and Dianas are all stronger than the regular Romeo y Julieta cigars, their strength around medium to full. The Saint Luis Rey Pura Vida is a 2020 Costa Rica Exclusive Regional Edition cigar, a 4.72” (120 mm) by 54 ring gauge, and comes in a box of 10 cigars. Only 6,000 boxes have been made in Cuba, so it is a cigar that will be hard to find very shortly. Similar in size as the previous Costa Rica and Nicaragua Regional Exclusive Habano in 2017 (the Ramon Allones Nuevo Mundo), it is of Magnum 54 vitola, a highly praised format in the region. Named Pura Vida after the popular local saying that is used to wish someone’s happiness at the end or at the beginning of a conversation. Entirely hand rolled with tobacco grown in the Vuelta Abajo region, this is a beautiful cigar, very comparable to the highly acclaimed and now discontinued Saint Luis Rey Serie A. The Pura Vida will certainly get even better after some aging, so do not miss your chance to get this little gem while available.
