The Romeo y Julieta Linea de Oro Nobles, part of the new top tier segment of the brand, is a delightful Pyramid, which comes in a box of 20 cigars. The “Linea de Oro”, literally the “golden line” in Spanish is the pendant of the Maduro 5 line for the Cohiba, the top of the crop among the Romeo y Julieta brand, launched to celebrate the brand's 145th anniversary. Habanos released three totally new cigars, which are among the biggest ring gauge cigars available among Habanos, the Hidalgos, the Nobles and Dianas. The Nobles vitola is called a Triangulares, 56 ring gauge by 5 ⅜ inches and, as the other two, comes in a refined high lacquered box of 20 cigars. One can right away see that these cigars are different from the regular production line, as the box is painted in a very elegant red and gold colors, adorned with an embossed golden medallion on the lid, representing the classic balcony scene. Each cigar comes with a specific Linea de Oro band with the name of the cigar as well as a secondary golden band at the foot. The Hidalgos, Nobles and Dianas are all stronger than the regular Romeo y Julieta cigars, their strength around medium to full. The main flavors of the Nobles are cedar, leather, toast, spices, roasted coffee and a delicious tobacco taste. The Nobles has a long finish and lingers beautifully on the palate. En savoir plus

The Dianas vitola is called a Damas, 52 ring gauge by 5 ¾ inches and, as the other two, comes in a refined high lacquered box of 20 cigars. Each cigar comes with a specific Linea de Oro band with the name of the cigar as well as a secondary golden band at the foot. The Hidalgos, Nobles and Dianas are all stronger than the regular Romeo y Julieta cigars, their strength around medium to full. The main flavors of the Dianas are of wood, earth and leather while the whole smoke is very creamy.

The Romeo y Julieta Exhibicion No.4 is an exquisite and complex Corona Extra, with 48 ring gauge, 5" (127mm) long and comes in a box of 25 cigars. It similar to the Petit Coronas from the same brand, and full of flavors. It has obviously some familiarity with the other Marevas from Romeo y Julieta. It reveals some earthy, woody aromas, and also a good amount of leather and some hints of spice on the tongue. The Rafael Gonzalez Perlas is a Cuban beauty, a medium-full bodied Petit Corona, 4" (102mm) long, of 40 ring gauge, and comes in a 25 cigars box. One of the most recent cigars of the Rafael Gonzalez lineup, (released in 2011), and is a pretty short smoke, perfect for a morning break. Its construction is great; it's perfectly rolled and feels nice between the fingers. It smokes beautifully, rather slowly and has a nice creamy profile but also develops some powerful woody aromas. There are also some creamy aromas, some coffee, some spices from pepper and some berries touches. The finish is long, with vanilla and some floral aftertaste. The Partagas Serie D No.6 is a complex Habano, a medium-full Petit Robusto, 3.5” (90mm) long, of 50 ring gauge, and comes in a box of 20 cigars. Released at the 2014 Habanos Festival, they are the shortest cigar in the Partagas line. Very similar to the Partagas Serie D No.4 or to the D No.5, they share the same ring gauge. It is a powerful short smoke, however not as strong as the No. 4, which has the typical Partagas flavors, such as coffee, wood, vanilla, rich and strong tobacco and a good zing of pepper at times. Very good construction on this short cigar, this is a go-to cigar for a fan of the Partagas Serie D No.4 and when time is of the essence, especially in the winter.
