The Partagas Seleccion Privada 2014 is a rich medium-full bodied Double Robusto, 6.3” (160mm) long, of 50 ring gauge, and comes in a box of 10 cigars. This new release comes with a Seleccion Privada golden ribbon wrapped around the 10 cigars and a Limited Edition 2014 band around each cigar. It is reminiscent of the Partagas Serie D No.4, maybe a bit stronger than it; a true full body cigar. The tobacco used is from the Vuelta Abajo and is aged at least two years. It is a beautiful cigar, with a flawless construction, perfect draw and a sharp burn line throughout the whole cigar. There is a lot of wood, rich coffee and a beautiful floral quality to it. The Hoyo de San Juan from Hoyo de Monterrey is a flavorful geniales, with 54 ring gauge and 5.9” (150mm) long and comes in a box of 15 aluminum tubes. Released at the 2014 Habanos Festival, this big ring gauge cigar is reminiscent of the old brand, but with a modern twist that appeal to many big ring gauges aficionados. It sports a new band which reads “Serie Le Hoyo” but as any Hoyo de Monterrey, it is hand rolled only using tobacco from San Juan y Martínez district, where the brand was born in 1865. It is of light to medium flavor, very aromatic and rich smoke. One of the best Hoyo out there. Has a great potential for aging, which would make it even smoother. En savoir plus

The Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No.1 is a rich and creamy Habano, of Corona Gorda size, 5.6”(143mm) long, of 46 ring gauge, and comes in a 15 cigars box. It is a cigar of the next to perfect construction; the wrapper is smooth and slightly oily. It is smoking beautifully and the draw on this cigar is flawless. On top of that, the flavor profile of this stogie is incredible. Definitely a must-try for all the fans of Corona Gorda vitolas. There are flavors of wood, earth, hay and nuts. There is also lots of creamy espresso, and some mineral notes. It might not be the most complex cigar, but it nevertheless won’t let you indifferent. Some delicate touches of pepper also spice up the Epicure No.1, whereas in terms of strength, it never goes over a medium body.
