The Bolivar Belicosos Finos is a creamy, complex and strong Pyramid, 5.5” (140mm) long, of 52 ring gauge, and comes in a 25 cigars box. After the Royal Corona and the Petit Corona, the Belicosos Finos is one of the most popular cigars out of Bolivar’s factory. It is mostly due to its medium size and shape, and the fact that its flavors are regular and stand out among other Habanos that it is a top seller. Its bold aromas and its full body make it a wonderful cigar to enjoy after an opulent meal. The Don Alejandro gets its name after one of the most famous Cuban tobacco grower, Alejandro Robaina, which was working for the family business even before the revolution. Its amazing tobacco, growing in the Vuelta Abajo region, was many times honored by the Cuban government as Vegas Robaina was named best tobacco grower during the 1990’s. The Vegas Robaina Don Alejandro is of Prominente format, 49 ring gauge and 7.6 inches (194mm) in length and was launched in 1997 along with the brand other vitolas. It is a very beautiful cigar to start with; the wrapper is incredibly smooth and has a nice milk chocolate color. The cigar smoke starts off with lots of chocolate and creamy coffee. There is also some leather, some nuts, a bit of wood and vanilla. Some notes of cherries are also to be found. The cigar is very smooth, never too harsh, oscillating between a medium and a medium-full body. The construction is impeccable, flawless draw from the start to the finish, sharp burn line, slow burn and smokable until the nub. A great Double Corona. En savoir plus

The Trinidad Robusto Extra is a Habanos classic, a 6.1" (155mm) by 50, praised by all aficionados, coming back in a neat travel humidor of 14 cigars. To the dismay of many, the Trinidad Robusto Extra was discontinued in 2012, it is now available again but in a rare and luxurious travel humidor (only 10,000 are available) only sold at Duty-Free and Travel retail markets. Presented online during the Virtual Travel Retail Expo in late 2020, this humidor is the latest release in the series of Travel Humidors. Not only its limited quantity, but also the high quality materials used for this humidor (suede cover, high quality cedar wood lining) will make it very attractive to the collectors. This mini-humidor includes 14 cigars, a hygrometer and humidifier to preserve the cigars in the best condition possible while traveling. As every Trinidad cigar, the 14 Robusto Extras have all been rolled by hand by the best torcedores with tobacco leaves (long leaf filler) grown in the famous Vuelta Abajo region. The head is of course finished in the distinctive Trinidad “pigtail”. The cigars are also double banded, with a special and very elegant gold-foiled foot band. This vitola, also called Dobles (T) in the Cuban factories, is of very aesthetic proportion.

The Trinidad Coloniales is an elegant Cuban cigar, a medium-bodied Corona, 5.2” (132mm) long, of 44 ring gauge, and comes in 5 packs of 5 cigars. It has great construction; its beautiful nice pigtail at the end of it is the perfect illustration. It is a very complex and rich Habano, made for aficionados of cigar full of aroma. The Trinidad Casilda Colección Habanos is a La Casa Del Habanos exclusive release, a 7.28” (185mm) by 53, and comes in a book-shaped box of 24 cigars. Released in 2019, this is the perfect collectors’ item as its supply is surely very rare, being sold exclusively at La Casa Del Habanos stores and as only 3,000 boxes have been produced, each box being numbered from 1 to 3,000. As it is part of the Colección Habanos, it comes in a mandatory and very elegant book-shaped wooden cabinet, which never offered that many cigars except the “Obras Completas” Edition (released in 2011) which holds 30 cigars. As expected is among the pricier cigars out of Cuba.

The cigar itself is also unique; being of Sobresalientes No.2 vitola (Double Robusto shape), it is a massive cigar, perfectly rolled with tobacco grown in the Vuelta Abajo region. As every Trinidad cigar, the triple cap ends with the typical Trinidad pigtail.

The Sancho Panza Belicosos is a smooth and tasty medium-full bodied Pyramid, 5.5” (140mm) long, of 52 ring gauge, and comes in a 25 cigars box. Sancha Panza, an old Habanos brand whereas not being the most famous, is known for several great vitolas , such as the Belicosos and the Molinos that were very popular one century ago. Thankfully, the Belicosos is still around and available. It is a praised cigar among aficionados of Habanos. The San Cristobal La Punta is a creamy and rich medium bodied Pyramid, 5.5” (140mm) long, of 52 ring gauge, and comes in a 25 cigars box. Launched by Habanos in 1999, it is hand rolled using only tobacco from the Vuelta Abajo region. It gets its name from one of the fortress of La Habana that used to defend the city during the Spanish Latin America Empire times. Despite its lack of fame, it is definitely a cigar that worth a try. Like other vitolas from the San Cristobal marca, La Punta cigar is pretty smooth, medium range in strength, overall very creamy and which develops a nice complexity of flavors along the whole smoke. There is plenty of leather, wood, barnyard, hay, nuts, toasty aromas, fruits notes, some chocolate, and some coffee. There is a delicious sweetness along the whole cigar too. In short, it is a very pleasant cigar that deserves more fame. En savoir plus

The San Cristobal La Fuerza is a smooth and complex medium bodied Robusto Extra, 4.3” (141mm) long, of 50 ring gauge, and comes in a 25 cigars box. Its unusual shape, longer than a Robusto, with a thick ring gauge, makes it longer to smoke, and lets you enjoy its medium body for a longer time. It is a creamy smoke with great toasty and black coffee aromas, along with some sweet molasses. The San Cristóbal de La Habana 20 Aniversario, a La Casa del Habano exclusive release, is 6.3” (162mm) by 52 ring gauge, and comes in a humidor of 20 cigars. Its official vitola name is the Capuleto, of Double Robusto size, only used once before by Hababanos with the Romeo y Julieta De Luxe Edición Limitada of 2013. First announced in 2019 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the brand launched in 1999, the San Cristobal de La Habana 20 Aniversario only hit the shelves in late 2020, and is sold exclusively in La Casa del Habanos stores around the world. This is the third LCDH exclusive release from San Cristóbal, after the Mercaderes and the Murallas released in the mid 00’s and now discontinued. Habanos really stepped up their presentation with these cigars, as they come in a beautiful pirate’s treasure chest shaped humidor, with a mix of light and dark woods. The cigars themselves are looking amazing, massive in size but tightly packed and virtually flawless. In addition to the usual San Cristóbal band, there is also a second band, reserved to the “La Casa del Habano” exclusive cigars. The Saint Luis Rey Serie A is a beautiful and rich medium-full Corona Gorda, 5.6” (143mm) long, of 46 ring gauge, and comes in a 50 cigars cabinet. Not being the most known cigar of this format, yet it has lots to offer. A great construction, with lots of complexity, aromas of wood, earth, spices are dominant but very well balanced with some sweet notes of caramel, vanilla and lots of freshness from stone fruits and green fruits. The cigar doesn’t have any rough edges; it is never too powerful but still remains between medium body and full body cigar. Finally, it is a great potential for aging. En savoir plus
