The Juan Lopez Seleccion No.1 is a rich and tasty medium Habanos of Grand Corona format, 5.6” (143mm) long, of 46 ring gauge, and comes in a 25 cigars box. The Juan Lopez brand is one the oldest founded in Cuba, in 1876. Released in 1990s, it is fully hand-made with Vuelta Abajo filler leaves. It can be sometimes hard to find, as the production can be interrupted at times, due to high quality standards. It is a Corona Gorda format, an extraordinary compromise between a Churchill, a Hermoso No.4 and a Corona. It is full of flavors; the aromas are well balanced between woodsy, earthy, sweet and peppery aromas and some creaminess to bind it all. The texture of the Juan Lopez Seleccion No.1 is amazing, generates lots of creamy smoke and an amazing taste. It can be both enjoyed young and fresh or with some more age and would delight both the beginner and the cigar aficionado. In short, a very impressive smoke by a lesson-known Cuban brand. The H.Upmann Magnum 46 is a Cuban classic, a rich and complex medium-full Coronas Gorda, 5.6” (143mm) long, of 46 ring gauge, and comes in a 25 cigars box. It is one of the most popular cigars of the brand with huge aging potential, with a strong following. Sadly The H. Upmann Magnum 46 is not as popular as it should be. The Cohiba Siglo II is an all-star cigar, a medium bodied Mareva, with 42 ring gauge, 5” (129mm) long and comes in a 5 packs of 5 cigars. Very well constructed cigar, it reflects Cohiba’s attention to detail and strive for perfection. The cigar smokes slowly and packs the typical Cohiba flavors in a shorter vitola. The Cohiba Siglo I is an outstanding Cuban smoke, a rich and smooth Petit Corona, of 40 ring gauge, 4" (102mm) long and comes in a box of 25 cigars. This is the shortest cigar in the Linea 1492.This small format Habano, short and thin gauge, is a quick smoke. The burn is even and nice. A perfect choice for a short break. The Siglo I is mild in taste, due to the kind of tobacco leaves (much lighter) used for the filler. The wrapper is also very nice, with very fine veins. En savoir plus

In a dual celebration, Habanos S.A., the Cuban cigar distributor, introduces the Cohiba Siglo de Oro, a fresh offering that pays homage to the Lunar New Year while commemorating the 30th anniversary of the iconic Línea 1492, also recognized as the “Siglo Series.” This special release not only marks the advent of the new year but also honors the three-decade legacy of the Linea 1492, a cornerstone of Cohiba’s success.

Following the tradition initiated in 2019 with the Romeo y Julieta Maravillas No.8 (Year of the Rat), the Cohiba Siglo de Oro stands as the fourth release by Habanos S.A. crafted in celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year, which is the year of the Rabbit.

Only 18,888 boxes have been crafted, a number symbolizing luck in Chinese culture due to the significance of the number 8. Each box bears a unique serial number displayed on a golden badge inside the lid, alongside an NFC chip. This cutting-edge technology allows users to scan the box with their smartphones for instant authentication and access to additional information about the cigars. Remarkably, this marks the first instance of NFC technology being integrated into a Cuban cigar box, functioning seamlessly even through the closed wooden box and outer packaging.

Additionally, a secondary band adorns each of these new Cohibas, representing the Year of the Rabbit, the current animal in the Chinese zodiac. The phrase "Year of the Rabbit" is also imprinted on the intricately designed, beveled box, along with a stylized logo commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Línea 1492 brand. While 2023 officially marked the Year of the Rabbit, it's worth noting that the Línea 1492 brand was introduced in 1992, making this anniversary celebration slightly delayed.

The Trinidad Robusto Extra is a Habanos classic, a 6.1" (155mm) by 50, praised by all aficionados, coming back in a neat travel humidor of 14 cigars. To the dismay of many, the Trinidad Robusto Extra was discontinued in 2012, it is now available again but in a rare and luxurious travel humidor (only 10,000 are available) only sold at Duty-Free and Travel retail markets. Presented online during the Virtual Travel Retail Expo in late 2020, this humidor is the latest release in the series of Travel Humidors. Not only its limited quantity, but also the high quality materials used for this humidor (suede cover, high quality cedar wood lining) will make it very attractive to the collectors. This mini-humidor includes 14 cigars, a hygrometer and humidifier to preserve the cigars in the best condition possible while traveling. As every Trinidad cigar, the 14 Robusto Extras have all been rolled by hand by the best torcedores with tobacco leaves (long leaf filler) grown in the famous Vuelta Abajo region. The head is of course finished in the distinctive Trinidad “pigtail”. The cigars are also double banded, with a special and very elegant gold-foiled foot band. This vitola, also called Dobles (T) in the Cuban factories, is of very aesthetic proportion.

The Trinidad Reyes is a smooth and flavorful medium-bodied Petit Corona, 4.3” (110mm) long, of 40 ring gauge, and comes in 5 packs of 5 cigars. Due to its short format and its smaller ring gauge, the Trinidad Reyes might feel harsher than other Trinidad vitolas, but it is definitely from the same brand as the flavors are typical Trinidad. The Trinidad Coloniales is an elegant Cuban cigar, a medium-bodied Corona, 5.2” (132mm) long, of 44 ring gauge, and comes in 5 packs of 5 cigars. It has great construction; its beautiful nice pigtail at the end of it is the perfect illustration. It is a very complex and rich Habano, made for aficionados of cigar full of aroma. With this Petit Corona size Trinidad has proven that also Petit Coronas can develop rich and smooth taste reminding us of their elder brothers. En savoir plus

The Trinidad Casilda Colección Habanos is a La Casa Del Habanos exclusive release, a 7.28” (185mm) by 53, and comes in a book-shaped box of 24 cigars. Released in 2019, this is the perfect collectors’ item as its supply is surely very rare, being sold exclusively at La Casa Del Habanos stores and as only 3,000 boxes have been produced, each box being numbered from 1 to 3,000. As it is part of the Colección Habanos, it comes in a mandatory and very elegant book-shaped wooden cabinet, which never offered that many cigars except the “Obras Completas” Edition (released in 2011) which holds 30 cigars. As expected is among the pricier cigars out of Cuba.

The cigar itself is also unique; being of Sobresalientes No.2 vitola (Double Robusto shape), it is a massive cigar, perfectly rolled with tobacco grown in the Vuelta Abajo region. As every Trinidad cigar, the triple cap ends with the typical Trinidad pigtail.

The Sancho Panza Belicosos is a smooth and tasty medium-full bodied Pyramid, 5.5” (140mm) long, of 52 ring gauge, and comes in a 25 cigars box. Sancha Panza, an old Habanos brand whereas not being the most famous, is known for several great vitolas , such as the Belicosos and the Molinos that were very popular one century ago. Thankfully, the Belicosos is still around and available. It is a praised cigar among aficionados of Habanos. Unlike other Torpedos, the Sancho Panza Belicosos not too strong and yet has the distinctive Sancho Panza taste. It is never too aggressive on the palate. En savoir plus
