The Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No.1 is a smooth Corona Gorda, 5.6” (143mm) long, of 46 ring gauge, and comes in aluminum tubes in a pack of 3 cigars. It is a cigar of the next to perfect construction; the wrapper is smooth and slightly oily. It is smoking beautifully and the draw on this cigar is flawless. On top of that, the flavor profile of this stogie is incredible. Definitely a must-try for all the fans of Corona Gorda vitolas. There are flavors of wood, earth, hay and nuts. There is also lots of creamy espresso, and some mineral notes. It might not be the most complex cigar, but it nevertheless won’t let you indifferent. Some delicate touches of pepper also spice up the Epicure No.1, whereas in terms of strength, it never goes over a medium body. The Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure de Luxe LCDH is a light yet rich Magico, 4.5” (115mm) long, of 52 ring gauge, and comes in a 10 cigars box. In 2012 Hoyo de Monterrey, one of the oldest Habanos brand, decided to launch an exclusive line for La casa del Habano, and released the Epicure de Luxe. It is only using tobacco from the most valuable area in Cuba, the famous Vuelta Abajo. This smoke packs all the typical Hoyo de Monterrey’s flavours into a small yet exclusive cigar, that is comparable to the 2012 Limited Editions, but which is cheaper than these. The construction is superb, it is fully handmade, its high level of quality is on par with any cigar out of La Casa del Habanos. On the flavor profile, it is rather light in taste yet shows a great level of complexity and control of aromas. The Cuaba Distinguidos is an elegant and exceptional medium to full Habano, of 52 ring gauge, 6.4” (162mm) long and comes in a box of 10 cigars. As each Cuaba cigar, this vitola stands out from the crowd being an elegant double figurado, reminiscent of the cigars famous in the 1900s. It is not a flat cigar, but instead it is bulging around the foot and its both ends are tapered in a pigtail manner; however the tails have been cut off.
