The Partagas Chicos is a tasteful medium-full Puritos, 4.2” (106mm) long, of 29 ring gauge, and comes in packs of 5 cigars. Partagas, one of the most eminent word brands of Habanos, has been rolling cigars since in 1827 in Cuba and has a reputation of offering full-bodied smokes. All Partagas vitolas are rich, full with earthy flavors. Despite the fact that the Chico is not hand rolled in the Royal Factory of Cigars Partagas but machine rolled in the ICT factory instead (as all cigarillos are), it nevertheless keeps the Partagas flavor profile. Like all cigarillos, it is rolled with short filler, and comes precut and with no bands. Despite its small size compared to other Partagas vitolas, it retains all the strength and taste of its bigger brothers in a short 20 minutes smoke. Its affordable price makes it the perfect go-to cigar for a short break, and the perfect smoke to introduce some friend to Partagas typical strong and rusty taste. The Montecristo Media Corona is a medium-full short Habano, a Half-Corona, 3.5” (90mm) long, of 44 ring gauge, and comes in a box of 25 cigars. As other newer cigars, Habanos released this very short vitola (the shortest hand rolled cigar along with the H Upmann Half Corona), that fits perfectly the need for customers to enjoy a Cuban cigar in a short time. This vitola is totally hand made with long filler, using leaves from Vuelta Abajo, known for producing the best tobacco leaves in the world, in the region of Pinar del Rio. As expected from Montecristo, the Media Corona is perfectly rolled, a great draw and smokes beautifully. It is a bit more powerful than other Montecristos, because of its shorter length, so expect a body ranging from a medium to a medium-to-full. The Hoyo du Maire is part of Le Hoyo Series and is of Small Panetela/Entreactos format, 30 ring gauge and 3.9 inches (100mm) in length. This cigar is part of the Le Hoyo series, a special series made for a Swiss distributor in the years 1940's and, as the cigars from this series, is pretty different than other Hoyo de Monterrey. The Hoyo du Maire, is a medium to full flavored cigar, with tobacco and wood as main flavors. There are also lots of toasted aromas, and notes of leather, cream and a bit of tea notes. Despite being a pretty short smoke, not more than half an hour, but still manages to provide the typical Cuban "twang" with a lot of complexity, while never being over powerful.
