Cuban Cigars

The Montecristo OPEN Master is a mellow yet very rich Habano, of Robusto format, of 50 ring gauge, 4.9” (124mm) long and comes in a box of 20 cigars. Like other cigars from the OPEN series, this stogie is targeting aficionados that wish to smoke while doing an outdoor activity, and any inexperienced smokers. It is a cigar of a lighter blend compared to the usual vitolas from Montecristo, but it is of Montecristo standard nevertheless. It is a robusto size cigar that is ideal as a morning smoke or as a complementary companion for delicate wines and spirits. Its smooth character generates plenty of rich flavors of wood and tobacco and just the right amount of spice and bitterness. The Partagas Presidentes is a beautiful and strong figurado, of Taco format, 47 ring gauge, 6.2” (158mm) long and comes in a box of 25 cigars. This figurado from Partagas is not very well known. This cigar is one of the rare competitors of the Cuabas. From its odd dimensions, close to a Julieta (same gauge but slightly shorter), it seems to be of strong flavor, and it is. It evolves on an earthy and woody register. It is nevertheless a bit smoother than a Julieta. The final is short. En savoir plus

The San Cristobal La Punta is a creamy and rich medium bodied Pyramid, 5.5” (140mm) long, of 52 ring gauge, and comes in a 25 cigars box. Launched by Habanos in 1999, it is hand rolled using only tobacco from the Vuelta Abajo region. It gets its name from one of the fortress of La Habana that used to defend the city during the Spanish Latin America Empire times. Despite its lack of fame, it is definitely a cigar that worth a try. Like other vitolas from the San Cristobal marca, La Punta cigar is pretty smooth, medium range in strength, overall very creamy and which develops a nice complexity of flavors along the whole smoke. There is plenty of leather, wood, barnyard, hay, nuts, toasty aromas, fruits notes, some chocolate, and some coffee. There is a delicious sweetness along the whole cigar too. In short, it is a very pleasant cigar that deserves more fame. En savoir plus

The Sancho Panza Belicosos is a smooth and tasty medium-full bodied Pyramid, 5.5” (140mm) long, of 52 ring gauge, and comes in a 25 cigars box. Sancha Panza, an old Habanos brand whereas not being the most famous, is known for several great vitolas , such as the Belicosos and the Molinos that were very popular one century ago. Thankfully, the Belicosos is still around and available. It is a praised cigar among aficionados of Habanos. Unlike other Torpedos, the Sancho Panza Belicosos not too strong and yet has the distinctive Sancho Panza taste. It is never too aggressive on the palate. En savoir plus
